1970 Mustang History

Some of the subtle changes for the 1970 Ford Mustang include the removal of the quarter panel scoops, the taillights have a smoother look since they are now recessed into the rear panel, the front marker lights are placed back on the fenders, headlights are back to two again, the ignition switch is moved to the steering column, a new styled steering wheel and high back bucket seats are offered in 1970 for the first time as standard equipment.

As far as powerplants go, the 1970 Ford Mustang drops the 390 cid engine altogether and the 351 cid Windsor engine is replaced by the 351 cid Cleveland. All the other engine offerings from last year are still available.
