Second generation Camaro
After only three years since its introduction, the 1970 Camaro receives a complete new body style. The body is two inches longer and the doors a noticeable five inches. To the dismay of a lot of people the Camaro is no longer available as a convertible. This new look would last until 1982.
1970 Camaro SS (Super Sport RPO Z27)
Standard engine is the 350 cid 300 bhp
The 396 cid engine now displaces 402 cid, but GM brass chooses to keep the name as a 396 due to name recognition and lower insurance premiums
396 cid models come with beefed up suspension, black trunk panel, black grille, chrome dual exhaust, hidden wiper blades, white letter tires, power brakes and engine trim

1970 Camaro RS (Rally Sport RPO Z22)
Changes to the nose include twin bumperettes, round parking lights between the grille and the headlights, a distinctive grille mounted on a flexible body color frame
The RS package may be combined with any other Camaro, thus creating the sought after RS/SS and the RS/Z28
RS emblem on the steering wheel, door handles receive a body colored insert, hide-away wiper arms, "Rally Sport" nameplates on front fenders

Standard engine: 350 cid 360 bhp LT1
Automatic transmission is available for the first time
