1967 Corvette History

The looks of the 1967 Corvette is a little cleaner from the previous year. Some noticeable changes are the fender louvers of which there are now five and fully functional, again vertical, but slanted a bit forward. The hood receives a large opening scoop at the front of the center bulge, but only on the optional 427 cid engine cars.

The rear back-up lights now have their own home at the center of the rear panel just above the license plate housing, allowing for two real taillights on either side.

In the interior, the biggest change is the relocation of the parking brake lever from under the dash to the center console. Also the headliner receives a bit more padding. New for 1967 are four-way flashers, bigger vent ports and folding seat back latches.

Production for the 1967 Corvette was 8,504 Coupes and 14,436 Convertibles, for a combined total of 22,940 units.

Bob Wingate's 1967 Factory Shop Order Corvette:
"This 1967 Corvette is the only known and documented example of a Factory Shop Order Corvette. This car was built for Bob Wingate by Joe Pike of Chevrolet Product Promotions as a special favor and reward. Wingate led the nation for a number of years in a row for single handedly selling the most Corvettes for an individual" ...for the rest of this unique story and to see lots of priceless photos taken from 1966 to now, check out Bob's Corvette's.
