1969 Dodge Dart History

In 1969 the Dart GTS became a little faster due to an increase in power on the optional 383 motor, now rated at 330 bhp. On the rear you could order "Bumble-Bee" stripes with "GT" written on them.

Some of the exterior changes included a redesigned front black grille with a horizontal center bar. The rear body panel came blacked-out. The round front and rear side marker lights from '68 turned rectangular in shape for '69.

New for '69 was the introduction of the Dart Swinger 340 which was available as a hardtop only and came equipped with the 340 cid engine rated at 275 bhp, four speed manual tranny hooked up to a Hurst shifter, the Rallye suspension package, a three-spoke steering wheel, wider 14 inch tires and wheels and a rear Swinger "Bumble-Bee" stripe.
