1970 Dodge Dart History

The 1970 Dart GTS and the Swinger 340 were back for another year.

The Dart received a front and a rear face lift. The rear tail lights, now rectangular in shape, are wedged into the bumper. Due to the new rear style, the trunk space is almost half the size from the '69 model.

The Swinger 340 now displays two long narrow hood scoops, and comes standard with a three-speed manual tranny. The Swinger 340's option list was lengthy and included items such as a special sporty hood with scoops and tie-down pins. This hood received a flat black paint job. Power windows, steering and brakes were also available as well as wire wheel covers and Rallye wheels.

The Swinger 340 also offered bucket seats alongside a center console and a 6000 RPM tachometer. The roof could be ordered with either a black or white vinyl cover.

The Dart convertible model was discontinued for the 1970 lineup.
